Yey! (Nota: baca dengan nada girang tak terkawal)
When I first started my two-year attachment here back in Feb 2012, it went almost 20 months without rain in Jeddah. Not a single drop. It was unusual even for this desert standard; and it was recorded as one of the longest dry spells in the region.
Four months before I went home for good, we finally had our first taste of rain. That was in October 2013.
Mari minum petang dulu. Mengidam hidangan ala Malaysiana, roti canai dan teh tarik. Tapi ini saja yang ada di gurun. Syukurlah, kan |
That sight (of adults eagerly enjoying the rain) has really, really changed the way I look at reality. Because this is something we always take for granted in Malaysia. Sometimes – we perhaps need to wish for enough pain, so that even the smallest joys in life will appear bigger.

Misi balas dendam. Nasib Arab, ayam panggang dan salad lapan jenis. Nyum! |
